The Island

Pelican Villa is ideal for guests that wish to explore this beautiful island. It’s also an ideal base for sailors taking part in the many regattas at English Harbour as well as for visitors coming to watch the various international cricket matches at the stadium. We recommend hiring a car and taking off for some adventures: there is so much to do near by. English and Falmouth harbours have many fantastic bars and restaurants. Guests receive our season recommendations for the best places to shop, eat, drink and party as well as things to do locally and further afield.

Beaches

Antigua is known for its beautiful beaches and the Atlantic and Pacific coast beaches offer different experiences. Close to English Harbour, Pigeon and Galleon have both high end and more relaxed dining options and bars. As a contrast, Rendezvous Bay, accessed by boat or by foot, is the real deal in terms of a Robinson Crusoe experience . For sheer all round gorgeousness, Half Moon Bay has loungers and umbrellas for rent and a fabulous beach shack restaurant.

Hiking

Wonderful hiking on the doorstep. Go to Galleon Beach for walking trails up to Shirley Heights and see the magnificent Pillars of Hercules. From nearby Cobbs Cross, park and walk up Monks Hill for panoramic scenic views and historical sites. Further afield there’s Mount Obama and the Rainforest. Local walking guide Dassa takes tours and is charming and knowledgeable on the Rainforest and the history of Antigua.

Rainforest

Apart from hiking there is a zip wire in the canopy of the Rainforest. Fun for children and adults alike if you are looking for an adrenalin thrill.

Watersports

Kite surfing, foiling, powered snorkelling all within driving distance.

Golf

The Cedar Valley Golf Course is an 18 hole, par 70 course with beautiful greens and sweeping sea views.

Horse Riding

Fancy taking a trot down to the sea? Spring Hill Riding Club is a short drive away.

Yoga

Energie Studio at Falmouth Harbour offers daily yoga and pilates classes. It’s a stunning view from the yoga studio across the harbour. International yoga teachers run classes for all levels.

English and Falmouth Harbours

A trip down to the Dockyard to see the super yachts in peak season is highly recommended. Historic Nelson’s Dockyard with its museum and naval ruins worth a trip. Also Shirley Heights for the history, views and the steel band and rum punches on a Sunday evening.
